Nostalgia
I spent many summers and Christmases in this small town Tennessee home. Sure, it's had a few updates over the years—the addition of a fireplace, some new wallpaper here or there—but for the most part it is a time capsule of my childhood, complete with lack of cell reception or wifi.
Wood paneling.
Porcelain and glass.
A yard that stretched for miles until it disappeared into the forest.
His truck.
Old coasters.
The haunted painting that I had to sleep under every night.
A pristine sitting room.
Tiny doll furniture.
This weekend, all experienced by another little blonde girl, years later, who is equally captivated by its mysteries.
